VOLUNTEERS

What Volunteers Offer Us at SpeedDart Sport NT

Each session requires the presence of referees, these individuals keep matches fair and players honest. They ensue that rounds run smoothly.

To be a referee requires an in-depth understanding of the rules and the attendance of at least one training session.

Volunteers can provide an excellent experience for new people coming in, as well as sharing their experiences into the sport, widening the SpeedDart Network.

What you could do to help!

Volunteers can provide a wide range of services for SpeedDart Sport NT. The following provide only a small insight to what you could get involved in.

Blaster Maintenance
Meet and Greet

Throughout SpeedDart Sessions, it is inevitable that blasters will require maintenance due to excessive use, and being reliant on a single person isn't viable for SpeedDarts long term vision.

Volunteers who wish to assist the maintenance of blasters will receive a basic to in-depth understanding of the hireable blasters that are supplied. Assistance will be required throughout SpeedDart Sessions to ensure smooth gameplay.

Set up and Pack Up
Coaching
Promotional Events
Tournaments

SpeedDart continues to grow as a sport, bringing in new members every month. Established Volunteers will be required to meet and greet these new players to help teach rules and regulations, and provide players a network of people to ask questions too.

Members are provided an opportunity to assist with the set up and pack up of the SpeedDart equipment for sessions.

Each contribution will earn royalty points, earning the members a free entry into a SpeedDart session.

Tournaments occur annually / biannually, a large scaled event, reliant on the assistance from numerous volunteers to ensure an elegant execution for players and spectators alike.

The following roles are examples of what can be expected from volunteers throughout tournaments;

  • Tickets and Stalls

  • Team Management

  • Logistical Oversight

  • Match Referees

  • Crowd Management

These will be dependant upon the specific tournaments, and the required roles will be announced closer to the events.

As competitive SpeedDart is growing with more team registrations monthly, we are looking for people who wish to contribute to the sport, by teaching their skillset to players. These are individuals who have prior experience within the field, whether it would be other sports, skirmish style games, or basic tactics / skillsets from Defence / Emergency Services.

An understanding of these tactics can provide players an opportunity to fine tune their skills on the court, giving them a leg up in tournaments against other states or countries.

SpeedDart is a new sport, and as such, we organise and attend a multitude of promotional events to increase awareness about this growing sport.

This includes events such as;

  • Expos

  • Come and Try Days

  • Sports Awareness

  • Corporate Events

  • Festivals

Volunteers play a vital role in the execution of a successful event. Their roles will vary, from magazine reloading, to participation in demo matches, or the conduct of public interviews on their experiences within the sport.
